John Myung "fun facts"

• Married Lisa from the band Meanstreak, his fellow bandmates Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci also married members of this band.
• Is known for being the quietest member of Dream Theater, often leading casual fans to believe that he is either mute or doesn't speak english. In fact Myung does speak, and is an animated person in private company.
• Born in Illinois, moved to Long Island at a very young age.
• Grew up with and went to school with Kevin Moore and John Petrucci.
• Started out as a violen player and got into bass becuase someone assumed they were similar and asked him to be in their band.
• Influenced heavily by Yes, Rush and Iron Maiden.
• Will apparently do anything as a dare if money is involved, for example tackling fellow band member James LaBrie at a concert.
• Practices his instrument almost constantly.
• Founded Dream Theater/Majesty when him and Petrucci approached Mike Portnoy in a jam room at Berklee
